What's on the Menu: Food Truck Tuesday May 21

See who's serving dinner today and find out where to park.

It's time for Smyrna Food Truck Tuesday again! The event is held from 5 to 9 p.m. at Taylor-Brawner Park, organized by the City of Smyrna in partnership with Georgia Power and Cobb Travel & Tourism. Here is a lineup of the food trucks serving dinner tonight: Public parking is available adjacent to the playground and mini ampitheatre, and also at Community Bank of the South, Covenant Christian School and Smyrna Presbyterian Church. Parking is limited, so walking or biking is encouraged. Smyrna Food Truck Tuesdays are recycling friendly. Look for recycling containers and help keep the park clean. The food trucks participating will change from week to week. Check back with Smyrna-Vinings Patch to see who will be at next week's event.

We got there at 7:30 last Tuesday, only to discover that most of the trucks were running low or out of their menu items. That was rather surprising, given that they should've known about the popularity after last year. Smyrna Food Truck Tuesday started last week, and is being held from 5 to 9 p.m. at Taylor-Brawner Park. Here is a lineup of the food trucks serving dinner tonight: Public parking is available adjacent to the playground and mini ampitheatre, and also at Community Bank of the South, Covenant Christian School and Smyrna Presbyterian Church. The popular Smyrna Food Truck Tuesday is back! See who's serving dinner today and find out where to park.

Tuesdays are starting to look delicious again! Here is a lineup for this season's first Smyrna Food Truck Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Taylor-Brawner Park. Buen Provecho serves a "taste of Puerto Rico at your fingertips." Blaxican brings together Mexican and soul food. Freckled & Blue "feeds an Atlantan in need" with every meal purchased. Happy Belly is Smyrna's hometown food truck.  Hail Cesar uses "only the freshest ingredients" sourced close to Atlanta. Ibiza Bites's motto is "Life is food! Taste life!" King of Pops brings popsicles on wheels! Mix'd Up is inspired by Rock and Roll. Pressed for Time serves up paninis. Yum Yum Cupcake claims to be the first mobile dessert truck in Atlanta. Yumbii boasts it's Atlanta's first food truck. …

Smyrna Food Truck Tuesday to Return

The City of Smyrna is bringing back the much-anticipated event for the spring.

The wait is over. Smyrna Food Truck Tuesday is set to return for the spring on Tuesday, May 7, according to the City of Smyrna. The event will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. at Taylor-Brawner Park. A lineup of food trucks will be announced later today on the city's Facebook page, said City of Smyrna spokesperson Jennifer Bennett. Smyrna Food Truck Tuesday concluded a successful first season last fall, attracting thousands of attendees from around Smyrna-Vinings and surrounding neighborhoods.

What's New in Smyrna?

Here are a few new ordinances and changes recently adopted by the City of Smyrna.

The City of Smyrna recently adopted the following ordinances to regulate temporary signs, noise and the Food Truck Tuesday event that is scheduled to make a return at the end of this month. New Temporary Sign Ordinance The new temporary sign ordinance adopted by the Smyrna City Council includes key provisions such as the size and location of the signage. Temporary sandwich signs will be allowed for no more than three total, one-month periods per frontage, annually.  Noise Ordinance Revised A new noise ordinance has been put in place to reflect the reality of noise levels more properly. City officials say this will allow the police to enforce decibel levels and find the proper balance for residents and businesses. The new ordinance also …

Limited parking? for sure. I found this out when traversing Collier Drive the first Tuesday and it was a one way street with cars parked on both sides and many more trying to find a spot for themselves. I was just taking a short cut to Atlanta Rd. Not now on Tuesdays!   more ›
