"It's so easy," he said.
James Timothy Fortner visited the Smyrna Target store on Cobb Parkway Saturday night. The Talking Rock man picked up some skin tights, socks, a watch and a headlight. According to a Cobb County criminal warrant, Fortner cut off the price tags, concealed the items in his pants and walked toward the exit, where officials detained him. Fortner was arrested around 8 p.m. Saturday on a charge of theft by shoplifting. He remains in custody in lieu of $5,000 bond. Authorities wrote in the warrant that Fortner has a "signficant record (of) shoplifting." And according to officials, he told them he isn't done. "When I get out of jail," he allegedly said, "I will be back to steal more because it's so easy."

Are you gearing up to let your fingers do the walking on Cyber Monday?
Smyrna and Vinings residents who didn’t want to brave the crowds on Black Friday or Small Business Saturday still have one more big chance to save courtesy of Cyber Monday. Similar to the two other major shopping events, Cyber Monday differs in that consumers don’t have to leave the comfort of their own homes (or offices) to take advantage of some pretty big pre-holiday deals. All the bargains laid out for Cyber Monday are for online shoppers only. So how can you find the best deals online this Cyber Monday? While most major retailers that have an online presence aren’t tipping their hats on their online deals just yet, many have splash pages set up that they're inviting shoppers to bookmark in advance of the Nov. 26 shopping holiday. Here…

The retailer is rolling out its first Black Friday deals Thursday—that’s Thanksgiving night—at 8 p.m. Not to be outdone, Target is inviting customers to grab its Black Friday deals at 9 p.m. Thursday. The early deals means those hoping to save money during their holiday shopping will be spending part of another holiday heading to stores, fighting the crowds and waiting in …
