Funeral Held for Tendai Nhekairo

Campbell High senior Tendai Nhekairo's funeral was held Thursday morning at First Baptist Church of Atlanta, nine days after a Cobb County police officer shot the 18-year-old East Cobb resident. Nhekairo was naked and wielding two knives March 27 when he threatened police at theRiverside House Apartments and was killed, police say. But the circumstances of the former football wide receiver's death weren't the focus for mourners Thursday. I don't disgree that it's a shame another youth was killed. However, I don't blame the officers. I personally know one of the officers who was there in the parking lot and got hit with stattered glass from the window he shot out. Wait till they release the 911 call and the radio traffic from that night. You will then have a better understanding of what happened. It's lucky that we only have one … more ›
