CNN has reported that two officers that were under investigation for possibly profiling Actor and Director Tyler Perry, have been cleared of any possible wrongdoing. The incident occurred in February of this year when Tyler Perry was pulled over in Southwest Atlanta after leaving his studio near Greenbriar Mall. Mr. Perry admits to making an illegal turn, but says he was pulled over and put into a hostile situation with the 2 officers. Not everyone knows that local funnyman of many talents Tyler Perry has added playwright and director to his roster of accomplishments. The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre will be rolling out Perry’s brand-spanking-new musical “Aunt Bam’s Place” beginning tonight. Starring Cassi Davis as the outrageously comical character Aunt Bam, this is a rollicking tale of family drama with the generous helping of hilarity one expects from the creator of the zany character Madea. Involving a nephew’s dilemmas juggling his nervous wife, visiting children, and drunken ex-wife, only Aunt Bam can sort out the raucous mess. Whether it plays classic rock, opera, musicals or ballet, the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center has something for everyone. Check out what’s happening this month and next. The Third Annual Shuler Hensley Awards honoring musical theater in Georgia high schools will broadcast Friday, Aug. 12, at 8 p.m. on WSB-TV Channel 2. The awards show took place this past April at Cobb Energy and honored students in 15 different categories including overall production, leading actor and actress, supporting actor and actress, music direction, costume, lighting and scenic design and chorus ensemble.
