Another Broken Egg Café will open its newest franchise unit on Monday, Jan. 7 in Vinings Jubilee, offering egg-cellent breakfast, brunch and lunch options to diners looking for creative food options. The menu features “egg-straordinary omlettes,” cinnamon roll French toast and the Southern scramble, as well as sandwiches and salads. Vinings has marked the start of the holiday season with the lighting of a Christmas tree for the past 40 years. For 26 of those years friends and families have gathered around in celebration to light that tree at Vinings Jubilee. This year's Christmas Tree Lighting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29 at Vinings Jubilee Tower Stage. Like a scene from the North Pole, there will be train and pony rides for the kids, prizes, face painting, balloon twisting, festive music and holiday treats. Not even Santa Claus would miss this event; kids can tell him which presents they would like to see under their tree this year and pose for photos on his lap.
Enjoy fun activities for the whole family this holiday season at Vinings Jubilee.

Guests can experience what it is like to be Jolly Old Saint Nick with free horse-drawn sleigh rides from 5 to 8 p.m. The holiday season at Vinings Jubilee is perfect for the whole family, from Christmas traditions, holiday parties and get togethers to festive activities and shopping opportunities. When one door closes another one opens in Vinings Jubilee.
Vinings Jubilee announced the opening of five new businesses a few days after Patch learned about the closure of The Vinings Fish Company. In a press release put out by the shopping center, Vinings Jubilee’s President Mike Hammer said that the “Vinings community is booming right now.” Two of the five businesses, Snap and Willow Green, opened in August and September respectively. Snap offers clothes for girls up to size 14 from brands like Splendid and Ella Moss. Willow Green is located in the former home of TeaFuse near SOHO. The garden boutique specializes in custom-made and “off the shelf” live floral and greenery arrangements. The New Orleans-based boutique Hemline brings cutting edge fashion to Vinings on Sept. 28. Mother’s Day is this Sunday and Smyrna-Vinings Patch has rounded up a list of activities for the family or for mom to enjoy solo. For the Family: Even the family dog can get in on this event. Dog Days at the Market at Riverview Landing is Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. This fun event features a five-acre dog pasture, a farmer’s market, live music and local beer from Sweetwater Brewery. Several food trucks will serve tasty bites on site including Smyrna’s own Happy Belly Food Truck. Bands performing at the event are Shed, Rocket 88, The Non-Essentials and The Owls. The Vinings Jubilee family grows with the opening of J.McLaughlin, Cafe at Pharr, BTB CrossFit and a State Farm office.
Four new tenants offering everything from clothes to food to fitness are setting up shop in Vinings Jubilee this spring. Vinings Jubilee’s newest tenant is J. McLaughlin. The brand established its classic American style in New York in the 1970s, but is just now making its way South. The Vinings Jubilee store, which opened April 5, is one of the first in Atlanta. Three other businesses will join J. McLaughlin and the other Vinings Jubilee shops next month. BTB CrossFit Vinings will open in Suite 478 in the back of the clocktower building. According to BTB CrossFit’s website, the CrossFit philosophy is about getting in shape without complicated exercise machines opting instead to use weights, kettlebells, medicine balls and pull-up bars. …

Two restaurants bring new locations to the intersection of Akers Mill Road and Cobb Parkway while two other eateries are on track for openings in 2012.
Depressed economy or not, people have to eat. And Smyrna-Vinings Patch is no exception to this rule as a new crop of restaurants takes root in the area including a bagel shop, two new cafes and a Caribbean grill. The Akers Mill area readies itself for three new restaurants in 2012. The Brooklyn Water Bagel Company is set to bring its franchise to the area later this spring. The Boca Raton-based casual eatery will open in the former Soup Garden location at 2945 Cobb Parkway. As the Smyrna-Vinings area prepares to welcome a pair of new eating establishments, including one this coming week, another one bites the dust in Market Village.
As Smyrna-Vinings Patch reported last week, The Grape in Vinings Jubilee closed its doors to conclude 2011, but Paces Holding/Vinings Jubilee Property Manager Terri Hilderhoff promised that another eatery was ready to fill the space. It looks as if that restaurant will be the Atlanta-based Cafe At Pharr. As reported Friday by What Now Atlanta, this will be location No. 5 for Cafe At Pharr. There are currently locations in Buckhead, Chastain and Miami Circle with a Brookhaven spot on the way.
