Hankerson to Recommend New Cobb Senior Services Director

The Cobb Board of Commissioners will review County Manager David Hankerson's recommendation of a new senior services department head for the county.

Cobb County Manager David Hankerson is expected to recommend the Board of Commissioners to hire Jessica Gill as the county's new senior services director at Tuesday's regular board meeting. Gill, who currently works as the area manager of business development for Sunrise Senior Living of Atlanta, has more than a decade of experience in the senior care industry, said county spokesman Robert Quigley. Gill also served as a public health advisor for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), president of the company Aging by Design and health and wellness director for the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Area Agency on Aging. Donations Sought for Senior Santa Event

Residents can help by donating new generic items or making a $30 donation to adopt a senior for the event.

Cobb Senior Services is looking for donations for its seventh annual Senior Santa on Dec. 14. This special event is an excellent opportunity for homebound senior adults in Cobb to enjoy an afternoon of holiday cheer, food, gifts and fellowship with others. Residents can help by donating new generic items or making a $30 donation to adopt a senior for the event. Suggested items for donation include bath sets, combs, brushes, pajamas, healthy snacks, hat and glove sets, gift cards, blood pressure monitors, pens and pencils, postage stamps, stocking stuffers and large print books.
