ReplyTwo minor corrections: the northern border of the seventh ward will be the Silver Comet Trail, not the E-W Connector and the next election is November 2015. Residents will continue to be represented by the Council person elected in the 2011 elections until then.

ReplyGlad you came to south Smyrna for the forum. This area of Cobb County was annexed into the City Limits in the mid-1990s and has grown tremendously. Our neighborhood alone is comprised of 855 newly-built homes and nearly 2,500 residents, all paying Smyrna taxes and getting Smyrna services. We are part of the new Smyrna!
Smyrna is now 51,271 residents (ranked 15th largest municipality in Georgia) and only 5,308 less than Marietta (ranked 13th with 56,579).
Thanks for taking time to participate and thank you to all of the candidates!

ReplyThere is no finer individual than Pete Wood. He and Lillie are true inspirational figures to hundreds of us and we are so fortunate to have them both committed to making Smyrna a great city for over 50 years. We wish them many more years to enjoy their hometown, which they have made far better by their untiring works.
Those of us blessed to have them as friends, know that angels do walk among us. Congratulations for the well-deserved recognition!

Great job, Smyrna Police! And to the citizen involvement, who helped make the arrest possible. Social media is amazing. Neighbors helping neighbors!
