Chattahoochee River Line Park Preservation Plan -- Public Meeting
You are invited to learn about the Chattahoochee River Line Battlefield in Southeast
Cobb County when the Mableton Improvement Coalition (MIC) hosts the first of a
series of public meetings. MIC will develop a Preservation Plan for
the Battlefield, which runs from Mableton through Smyrna north to Vinings. Many public and private tracts contain extensive fortifications built by the
Confederate and Union forces during the 1864 Atlanta Campaign.
The purpose of the Plan is to identify the best methods for preserving the battlefield and making it accessible to residents and tourists in the future. The ultimate goal is toopen this publicly-owned greenspace and historic area to the public. Plan now to attend the meeting and contribute your ideas.
