Wife of Former MLB Pitcher to Appear in Cobb Court Next Month

The former reality TV star is facing charges stemming from a July incident with her estranged husband.

The wife of a former Major League Baseball player who allegedly threatened her husband with a gun and a metal baton in Smyrna earlier this year is due in court next month.

Anna Benson, the wife of former New York Mets pitcher Kris Benson, was due in court on Monday, but 11 Alive News reports that her appearance before a Cobb County judge was waived. Benson will next be in court for a motions hearing on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Benson faces two counts of aggravated assault with a weapon, one count of criminal trespassing, and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

She is currently being held in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond.
