Smyrna's spooks take the streets for a good cause

The 2011 Spooktacular Supper is Friday, Oct. 21 the night before the race.

Smyrna may look a little spooky Saturday as hundreds of spooks take the street in costume to participate in the 2011 Spooktacular Chase. This 5K through the streets of Smyrna is a Peachtree Qualifier that raises money for Vision Rehabilitation Services of Georgia, a Cobb County non-profit that provides service to North Georgia’s blind and low vision residents.

The deadline to pre-register for the race for $25 is Thursday, Oct. 20. Race-day registration at Cobb Park is $30. 

All the spooky fun begins Friday night before the race at the Spooktacular Supper at the . Enjoy delicious eats from and bid on items like tickets to the Atlanta Opera, the Georgia Aquarium and a Tiffany’s gift card in the silent auction. Guests are encouraged to attend dinner in costume. Prizes will be awarded to the cutest, most original and most creative costumes.

Supper is from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Adults eat for $10. Kids six through 12 eat for $5 while kids five and under eat free.
