Jonquil Village Plan Modifications Tabled

The site developers need more time to complete studies on the best layout for the site.

CORRECTION: The total acreage being amended by Branch Capital Partners is 11.03, not 82 as previously reported.

ORIGINAL STORY: The City of Smyrna's Planning and Zoning Board will have to wait until Nov. 11 to discuss Branch Capital Partners' amended site plan and building elevations for the Jonquil Village project.

The measure, which would have been on the board's Monday evening agenda, has been tabled due to a mutual agreement that will allow Branch Capital more time to improve their application for the 81.95 acre site at Spring and Atlanta roads.

Jack Haylett, Director of Development with Branch Capital, said that, "we didn't feel like we were quite ready," to present their amendments to the Planning and Zoning Board and requested additional time to get the results of studies of the site plan.

Studies Haylett mentioned included the location of parking areas and retail areas on the site.

Haylett also said Branch Capital is working on getting a stipulation letter from their attorney.

The City of Smyrna anticipates that Branch Capital will bring forward their amendments during the Nov. 11 Planning and Zoning Board meeting, which will be held at 6 p.m. at Smyrna City Hall. Following that, the Smyrna City Council should be hearing about the changes during their Nov. 17 meeting, which will be held at 7:30 p.m.
